How do I turn on my radio?

 

 

Turn the knob at the top clockwise until you hear a click and the screen illuminates. Normal boot-up time is 30 seconds.

How do I turn off my radio?

 

 

How do I talk on my radio?

 

 

Push and hold the PTT button located on the left side of the radio. Release the button when you are finished talking.

How do I change Channels (talk groups)?

 

 

Push MENU -> Select Choose Group using the up/down buttons and push OK -> Select the desired group and push MENU.

How do I monitor talk groups?

 

 

Push MENU -> Select Choose Group using the up/down buttons and push OK -> Select the desired group to monitor and push OK.

The talk groups name changes from black text to red.

How do I program the P1-P4 buttons to different groups?

 

 

Push MENU -> Select Choose Group using the up/down buttons and push OK -> Select the desired group -> Push and hold the desired “P” button -> A confirmation will show “Defined <group name>”.

How do I privately call another user?

 

 

Push MENU -> Select User list using the up/down buttons and push OK -> Select the desired user and push MENU -> A green check mark will appear to the left of their name -> Push the PTT button once -> You are now in a private call.

To exit the private call, push the BACK button twice.

 

  • How do I review/replay past transmissions?

  • Push MENU -> Select PTT Records using the up/down buttons and push OK -> Select the desired record -> Push MENU to replay.

  • How do I adjust my microphone volume?

    •  

    Push MENU -> Select ADV Settings using the up/down buttons -> Select MIC Level and push OK-> Use the up/down buttons to increase or decrease the setting -> Push MENU to save the desired setting.

  • How do I adjust my speaker loudness?

    •  

    Push MENU -> Select ADV Settings using the up/down buttons -> Select SPK Level and push OK -> Use the up/down buttons to increase or decrease the setting -> Push MENU to save the desired setting.

  •  My radios sound robotic? How do I fix this?

    •  

    Push MENU -> Select ADV Settings using the up/down buttons -> Select Sound Quality and push OK -> Use the up/down buttons to change the setting -> Push MENU to save the desired setting.

    Note: All radios have to be either on STD Mode or HQ Mode. Sound Quality setting mismatches across radios will cause unintelligible communications.

  •  How do I send an SOS?

    Push and hold the ORANGE button on the left side of the radio.

    A red SOS will appear on your screen as well as to other users.

    Push MENU -> Select ADV Settings using the up/down buttons -> Select SOS Mode and push OK -> Use the up/down buttons to change the setting -> Push MENU to save the desired setting.

    NORMAL – Sends visible alert and tone to users in talk groupHOW MIC – Sends visible alert, tone to users in talk group, and keeps your microphone engaged.OFF – Disables the SOS button.

  • How do I change the time zone on my radio?

    Push MENU -> Select ADV Settings using the up/down buttons -> Select Time Zone and push OK -> Use the up/down buttons to change the setting -> Push MENU to save the desired setting.

  • How do I change the backlight mode?

    •  

    Push MENU -> Select Settings using the up/down buttons and push OK -> Select Backlit Mode and push OK -> Use the up/down buttons to change the setting -> Push MENU to save the desired setting.

    Auto – Backlight turns on with button presses and transmissions. Backlight turns off after 10 seconds.Key – Backlight turns on with button presses.Open – Backlight stays on.

    How do I change the language on my radio?

  •  How do I disable the button beep tone?

    Push MENU -> Select Settings using the up/down buttons and push OK -> Select Key Tone and push OK -> Use the up/down buttons to change the setting -> Push MENU to save the desired setting.ON – Button tone is enabled.OFF – Button tone is disabled.

  • How do I disable the PTT button beep tone?
  • Push MENU -> Select Settings using the up/down buttons and push OK -> Select Roget Beep and push OK -> Use the up/down buttons to change the setting -> Push MENU to save the desired setting.
    • ON – Button tone is enabled.OFF – Button tone is disabled.

     

    How do I find my radio serial number?

     

     

    Ensure radio is powered off -> Remove the battery by pushing the clip at the bottom of the radio to the front and sliding the battery towards the bottom of the radio.

    Serial numbers are located at the top inside of the radio starting with the number “8”.
